The Winkle ASA filament is manufactured in Spain for 3D printers with FFF/FDM technology. ASA is acrylonitrile styrene acrylic, a thermoplastic developed as an alternative to ABS.
It improves with respect to the ABS the resistance to the outdoors with high resistance to the UV rays maintaining all its mechanical properties. The spherical particles of slightly cross-linked acrylate rubber (instead of the butadiene rubber of the ABS), work as an impact modifier, are chemically grafted with styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer chains, and embedded in a styrene-acrylonitrile matrix. Acrylate rubber differs from butadiene-based rubber in the absence of double bonds, giving the material approximately ten times the weathering and UV resistance of ABS, greater long-term heat resistance and improved chemical resistance. ASA is significantly more resistant to environmental stress cracking than ABS. It has a lower glass transition temperature, providing better low temperature properties to the material.
ASA is characterized by high outdoor weathering resistance; retaining gloss, color and mechanical properties. It has good chemical and heat resistance, high gloss, good antistatic properties, being resistant and rigid.

Likewise, our process guarantees the absence of chemical impurities that could modify the physical/chemical/aesthetic properties of our product.
In order to preserve the properties of our product, it is sent in a sealed bag to protect it from humidity and UV rays. This makes ASA a perfect and affordable material for your projects that require demanding physical properties.
