3D scanning is a technology that transforms physical objects into accurate digital models. We offer 3D scanning services designed to meet the needs of businesses and professionals across a wide range of industries. From engineering and industrial design to art and architecture, our solutions are here to make your work faster, more efficient and more detailed.

What is 3D Scanning?

3D scanning is the process of capturing the shape, dimensions and details of an object using specialized devices. This process creates a digital model that can be used for analysis, editing or manufacturing. It is ideal for projects that require millimeter accuracy, complex geometries or the exact replication of a physical design.

Advantages of 3D Scanning
  • Time Savings: Digitizing an object can be much faster than manually measuring and modeling.
  • Reverse Engineering: If you need to replicate an old or worn part, our reverse engineering service converts physical models into CAD files, making it easier to manufacture new parts.
  • Process Optimization: Simplify the creation of models for 3D printing, reverse engineering analysis, or quality inspection.
  • Scanning for Prototyping and Design: Obtain accurate 3D models for the development of new products or the modification of existing parts.

3D Scanning Case Studies:
  • Engineering and Manufacturing: Manufacturing companies can scan old parts or prototypes to replicate or improve them.
  • Cultural Heritage: Museums and archaeologists digitize artifacts to preservation, restoration, and interactive display.
  • Quality Control: Inspect parts with digital models to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Art & Design: Sculpt physical objects and transport them into the digital world for editing, animation, or printing.

We Scan and Process the Model
We Scan and Process the Model
Using our high-precision 3D scanning technology, we capture all the details of the physical object. We then process the data obtained to create a clean, ready-to-use digital model. This includes adjustments, removing imperfections, and generating a file in the format you need (STL, OBJ, STEP, among others).
Validation and Verification
Validation and Verification
We review the digital model to ensure it meets your specifications and quality standards. Upon request, we can also perform comparisons with the original design or dimensional analysis to ensure maximum accuracy.
We manufacture the Digitalized Material

Considerations

We offer a professional 3D scanning service designed to meet the needs of demanding companies and projects. It is important that you take into account the following aspects:

  • Available sizes for scanning
  • We can currently scan objects from small parts of a few centimetres to medium-sized structures (15mm-1500mm). For larger objects, we have tailored options that can include sectional scanning. Contact us to discuss your project dimensions and offer you the best solution.
  • Professional quality, not basic solutions
  • Our service is geared towards clients who value precision, quality and detail. We specialize in projects that require a high level of detail, impeccable results and advanced technologies (Accuracy: 0.05mm, Resolution: 0.10mm).
  • It takes time and planning
  • Quality takes time. The scanning, processing and, if applicable, manufacturing process is not immediate. Depending on the complexity of the object and the level of detail required, delivery times may vary depending on the project. However, we guarantee that the final result will be exceptional and meet your expectations..
  • Preparation of the Object
  • To ensure optimal scanning, the object must be clean and free of obstructions such as dust, grease or unstable moving parts. If you need help preparing your part before scanning, we are happy to help.
  • Every project is unique.
  • The cost of the service is calculated based on factors such as the size of the object, the complexity of the design, the level of detail required, and the time needed to complete the work. Once we have all the necessary information about your piece (dimensions, specific features, and project goals), we can put together a detailed quote that accurately reflects what our service includes. This ensures that we fully understand your needs and can deliver a result that meets your expectations.

Professional 3D scanning and physical-object digitisation service for reverse engineering, documentation, restoration, industrial design, spare parts, prototyping and preparation for manufacturing. We assess each object and agree the level of processing and file type the project actually requires.

Pricing is provided by quotation because capture and processing time depend on size, geometry, surface, required detail, intended use and requested deliverables.

Three-dimensional scanning of a physical component with a professional scanner and digitising software

Choose the right level of processing

Service levelWhat it includesTypical use
Raw scanCapture and delivery of the data with the agreed basic processing.Customers with the software and experience to continue processing.
Scan + cleaningRemoval of artefacts, repair and mesh optimisation within the approved scope.Visualisation, archiving or 3D printing when the captured geometry is suitable.
Scan + modificationsAdjustment, adaptation or redesign after digitisation.Modified spares, interfaces, corrections or preparation for a new use.
High technical complexityProject-specific assessment, CAD reconstruction, comparison or advanced processing defined in the quotation.Reverse engineering, difficult geometry and industrial applications.

Important: a raw scan is not necessarily a closed, printable mesh or an editable CAD model. We recommend the appropriate service level for the result you need.

Service capability

Indicative object size15 to 1500 mm; larger objects may be assessed for sectional capture
Published nominal accuracyUp to 0.05 mm under suitable conditions; not a universally guaranteed tolerance
Published nominal resolutionUp to 0.10 mm, subject to the object, setup and capture
Possible formatsSTL, OBJ, STEP and other agreed formats according to the processing purchased
QuotationCustomised for the object, purpose, difficulty and deliverables

Actual accuracy and resolution depend on size, geometry, working distance, calibration, object stability, line of sight, texture, surface finish and processing. Nominal figures do not mean that every point on every object can be captured at those values.

STL, OBJ or STEP: different deliverables

  • STL: represents the surface with triangles. It can be prepared for 3D printing but does not contain parametric CAD features or dimensions.
  • OBJ: is also mesh based and may retain surface information depending on the project.
  • STEP: is intended for CAD exchange. Producing an editable, manufacturable part may require reconstructing surfaces, holes, planes and features; this is quoted as reverse engineering or additional modelling.

Tell us the destination software and intended use. This avoids receiving a mesh when you need a CAD solid, or paying for reconstruction when you only need to archive the shape.

Objects requiring special assessment

Optical scanning requires the equipment to see the surface. The following may need preparation, reference markers, multiple captures, disassembly or reconstruction:

  • Transparent, translucent, highly reflective, very dark or textureless surfaces.
  • Deep cavities, undercuts and hidden areas that cannot be viewed externally.
  • Very thin edges, narrow holes, small threads or details close to the resolution limit.
  • Flexible, deformable, moving or unstable objects.
  • Delicate, heritage or finished items that cannot accept contact or surface preparation.

Any surface treatment is agreed in advance. It is not applied to a sensitive object without authorisation.
