About HTA3D

HTA3D: 3D printing, engineering and development since 2014

HTA3D is a Spanish company specialising in 3D printing, 3D printer manufacturing, and the supply of components and materials. From our facilities in Estepona, Málaga, we have been working since 2014 with individuals, professionals, companies and technology centres across Spain and Europe.

Our journey began during the early years of RepRap 3D printing, building, modifying and using our own machines. That hands-on experience became the foundation of HTA3D and still defines the way we work today: understanding the technology from the inside, testing it and improving it before recommending it.

More than a 3D printing store

Over the years, we have evolved from supplying components and DIY kits to the development and manufacturing of our own 3D printers, professional 3D printing services, technical consultancy and customised projects.

Today, we develop our HPRO range of professional 3D printers, designed on the basis of more than a decade of experience building, operating and maintaining 3D printing equipment. This experience also helps us select the components, materials and manufacturers we add to our catalogue.

We select technology we know

Our goal is not simply to offer the largest possible number of products. We aim to build a technical and useful catalogue made up of products we understand and that make sense for real 3D printing applications.

Many of the components we sell are also used in our own printers, development projects and production equipment. This allows us to understand first-hand aspects such as their compatibility, reliability, maintenance requirements and long-term performance.

Open, repairable technology designed to evolve

We strongly believe in solutions that allow users to retain control over their equipment. Whenever it is technically appropriate, we support open hardware and software, replaceable components, and systems that can be maintained, repaired, modified and upgraded over time.

This philosophy is present both in the products we select and in the machines we develop ourselves: a professional 3D printer should be a durable working tool, not a product unnecessarily restricted by a closed ecosystem.

An evolution built on real-world experience

From the first machines assembled in a garage to our current facilities, we have experienced first-hand a large part of the evolution of 3D printing over the past decade. Every generation of printers, every component tested and every project completed has helped shape what HTA3D is today.

2014 - For sale on Ebay

In 2014, we started professionally selling spare parts for 3D printers, and partial kits. While the competition was selling lots of 10, 50 and 100 bearings, we made "Motion Packs" that included all the bearings, belts, and couplers needed for certain 3D printer models, this way we made it easy to assemble DIY 3D printers, you can still find "3D printer motion kits" in many eCommerce, we were the first to do so. We also sold lots and lots of printed parts kits, knurled screws, etc.

2015 - P3Steel Prototype

Due to the success of our 3D printed kits on eBay we had to work very hard to achieve reliability and quality in our prints, in addition to improving the rate of defect-free 3D prints. At that time we were using 3mm filament, which had huge tolerances, between 3 and 2.8mm. Also extruders with printed reducers and knurled screws were not the most reliable printing system.

2016 - P3Steel por HTA3D

All our experience accumulated in these thousands of hours of 3D printing, together with the demand for reliable 3D printers made us launch in 2016 our first big success, "P3Steel by HTA3D", our modification of the P3Steel with many custom elements: direct extruder, custom frame, etc.
At this time still many popular brands were using geared extruders with knurled screw.
Over the next few months we included many improvements such as Igus bearings, and motors with integrated screws. Pr*** still sold their printer with metric 5 rods, with no other option.

2019 - Relocation to new 300m² facility

We set up the first 3 printers in the garage of our family home, which quickly became too small. In 2016, we moved to a 60m² room where we could hardly keep the stock of our catalog, space was the only impediment to our development, so in 2019 we took the leap and "we rolled the blanket over our heads", this allowed us among many other things to bring to market our 3DSteel, our HTA3D V2 extruder, and expand our catalog steadily from this moment.

2020 - COVID-19 Crisis

This was a hard blow for the whole society.
We were caught in the "eye of the hurricane", we could write a whole article about what we lived during these months, but as a summary: we froze the prices of all our material, unlike many others, we did not use the situation to speculate, we collaborated with many projects such as "Coronavirus Makers", we donated personal protective equipment directly, also 3D printing materials, for many weeks we were working to the limit to be able to serve all the necessary material without delay.
I will never forget the call from a father whose daughter, a doctor, was working without proper PPE. We were proud to be able to collaborate with all these projects and people.

2021 - 3DSteel V2

In this last period the electronics for 3D printing undergo an exponential development, as well as firmwares and lamination programs. This allows us to produce the 3DSteel V2, which works at 24v with components from TOP brands, such as Fysetc, GDStime, Bigtree tech, Trianglelabs, etc.

2022 - 2023 - Increase of our services to professionals.

Our 3Steel V2 has a great reception in different professional sectors, this positions us as a reference and support in professional 3D printing. We expand our portfolio of services with consulting and customized developments.

2024 - HPRO Asembled

Listening to the needs of our main customers, and ours as a professional 3D printing service, we developed this project and published it on our website. A printer that meets professional requirements in terms of performance, high durability and low maintenance cost.

La llevo usando unos días, limpia, no le he puesto el PEI adhesivo, funciona muy bien, de momento no he tenido ningún problema de warping, y una primera capa perfecta, me recuerda a imprimir en vidrio, pero con la facilidad de que se despega. Para mi es perfecto

Super easy to use. Actually a better product than the 'glue' sticks I was using before, claiming to stick well, but in reality I had a lot of first layer boundings. This liquid stick is so much better.
