Lubricating oil supplied in a 10 ml bottle for maintaining small mechanisms, smooth shafts and metal bearings. Its applicator allows small amounts to be deposited on specific points of 3D printers, CNC machines, plotters and other linear-motion equipment.

Main features

  • Product type: lubricating oil for mechanical maintenance.
  • Contents: 10 ml.
  • Compact bottle with a drop applicator.
  • Suitable for low-volume application on small mechanisms.

The oil composition, viscosity and chemical compatibility are not specified. Before applying it to plastics, elastomers, seals or other sensitive materials, test it on an inconspicuous area or consult the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

Compatible applications

It can be used on steel smooth shafts and metal linear bearings when the machine's maintenance procedure allows oil lubrication. It is dimensionally suitable for mechanisms using components such as the LM8UU linear bearing and the 8 mm calibrated smooth shaft, although the lubricant type must be confirmed for the specific bearing and machine.

These motion systems are found in many Prusa i3-derived printers, Anet A8 machines and other RepRap designs, as well as plotters and CNC 1610, 2418 or 3018 machines. Different revisions exist, so check that the specific axis uses a smooth shaft and a metal bearing suitable for oil lubrication.

It may also be used on hinges, small shafts and low-load metal mechanisms when a liquid oil is appropriate.

Applications to avoid or verify

  • Do not apply it to belts, timing pulleys or surfaces that rely on friction.
  • Do not apply it to V-wheels or V-Slot profiles, such as those used by many Creality Ender-3 and CR-10 printers.
  • Keep it away from print surfaces, filament, extruder drive gears and areas close to the nozzle.
  • It is not recommended for self-lubricating polymer bearings, such as Igus DryLin equivalents, unless explicitly approved by the manufacturer.
  • Linear rails, sealed bushings and preloaded bearings may require a specific oil or grease.
  • Do not use it to lubricate motors, sealed fans or electrical components.

Oil or grease

Oil spreads easily and allows light application, but it can migrate and may require more frequent reapplication. For lead screws, open gears and mechanisms requiring a more persistent lubricant, the 10 g lubricating grease may be more suitable, provided that it is compatible with the materials in the assembly.

For more frequent maintenance, a 50 ml mechanical lubricating oil is also available.

Application instructions

  • Switch off and disconnect the machine before performing maintenance.
  • Remove dust and old lubricant residue from the area.
  • Apply only a small quantity; a few drops are normally sufficient.
  • Move the mechanism manually to distribute the oil.
  • Remove any excess with a clean cloth to prevent it from attracting dust and debris.
  • Do not mix different lubricants when their composition or compatibility is unknown.

Application frequency depends on the machine, operating hours and environment. Always follow the maintenance schedule provided by the equipment manufacturer.
