The HANPOSE 775-80W is a brushed DC motor with two ball bearings, intended as the drive unit for a compact spindle in small CNC machines, engravers and bench tools. Its 5mm round front shaft accepts a suitable chuck or collet adapter, while its rear shaft and internal fan identify this double-shaft construction.

It is the lowest declared power and speed option in this family: 4,000rpm at 12V and 8,000rpm at 24V as no-load reference values. It can suit light work in plastics, soft wood, PCBs and similar materials when cutter, feed, depth of cut, machine rigidity and chip extraction are appropriate.

This is a motor, not a complete spindle: it requires a mount, 5mm-shaft chuck or collet, DC/PWM controller, power supply, wiring, protection and tool. The advertised power does not by itself represent guaranteed continuous cutting power.

Power and PWM control

Use a DC supply of the selected voltage and a brushed-DC motor controller rated for startup and possible stall current. A CNC PWM or enable output is only a command signal: never pass motor current through a logic pin or an auxiliary output not designed for this load.

Available supply candidates include the 12V 33A power supply and the 24V 25A power supply. The controller, transient current, other loads, cable size, terminals and fuse must still be checked. A PWM soft start reduces electrical and mechanical stress. Avoid a stalled rotor because brushed motors can draw very high current at zero speed.

Mechanical setup and tooling

  1. Clamp the body in a rigid mount without blocking airflow.
  2. Fit a chuck or collet adapter compatible with the 5mm round shaft and intended rpm.
  3. Check runout and vibration first without a cutter, then at low speed.
  4. Insert the tool to a safe depth without bottoming it incorrectly.
  5. Begin with conservative feed and depth of cut, increasing only after observing cut quality and temperature.

Reversing polarity reverses rotation. Do so only with power removed and when the tool holder cannot loosen in the selected direction.

What determines machinable materials

Actual capability depends on cutter geometry and diameter, rpm, chip load, depth of cut, frame rigidity, axis play, chuck runout, cooling and dust/chip removal. Metal, glass and brittle materials require a specifically engineered process and machine; this motor alone is not a machining guarantee.

Choose this model for learning, prototyping and light automation. For higher declared speed see the HANPOSE 775 288W. For a larger 895 body, lower speed and higher declared torque, see the HANPOSE 895 200W.

Cooling, EMI and maintenance

  • Keep ventilation openings clear and monitor motor and controller temperature during initial tests.
  • No continuous duty cycle is documented; allow cooling periods if temperature rises excessively.
  • The fan also moves less air at low speed, so avoid prolonged high-load, low-speed operation.
  • Route motor wiring away from endstops, probes, USB and weak signals; twist the pair and add suitable suppression if interference appears.
  • Disconnect power before changing tools or touching terminals.

It is for you if

  • You want to build a compact DC spindle for light work and can complete the system.
  • Your mount accepts the declared pattern, 5mm shaft and required airflow.
  • You have a controller, supply and protection sized for startup.
  • You prefer the more moderate member of the family over maximum speed.

It is not for you if

  • You need a complete electrospindle with integrated collet, certified runout or guaranteed continuous shaft output.
  • You expect to machine metal or glass without validating the full machine, tooling and process.
  • You only have a logic-level PWM output or a power supply without a power controller.
  • You need a closed system with integrated mount, guarding and emergency stop.

Package contents

  • 1 × HANPOSE 775-80W DC motor.

Mount, chuck or collet, controller, power supply, wiring, fuse, switch and cutting tool are sold separately.

Safety: do not connect to 110/230V AC. Use eye protection, guarding, suitable extraction and an accessible emergency stop. Check the maximum rpm of every accessory before use.
