SC10LUU long linear bearing with aluminium housing for 10 mm shaft

The SC10LUU combines a long linear bearing for a 10 mm shaft with an aluminium mounting housing. It is used in moving carriages and platforms for 3D printers, CNC machines, laser engravers, automation equipment and other linear motion systems.

Its long body provides a greater guiding length than the short SC10UU unit. It may be suitable for structures requiring a longer supporting base, provided that the shafts and housings are correctly aligned.

Commercial dimension tables for this family may specify approximately 45.6 or 46 mm for the longitudinal spacing. This should be treated as a nominal dimension. Check the actual received unit before machining a plate without slots or adjustment clearance.

Compatibility and installation

The SC10LUU is designed for 10 mm nominal diameter precision smooth shafts, such as the cut-to-length 10 mm precision smooth rod.

Compatibility with a machine should not be assumed solely because it uses 10 mm shafts. The available length, shaft centre height, mounting-hole positions and carriage geometry must also match.

• Parallel shafts must be installed without convergence or height differences.
• The housing should be mounted on a flat surface.
• Tighten the mounting screws progressively to avoid mechanical stress.
• Check the complete travel manually before operating the motors.
• Keep the shafts clean and correctly lubricated.

Differences from the short SC10UU

The long version provides a larger supporting base but also requires more installation space and uses different longitudinal mounting-hole spacing. The SC10LUU and short SC10UU should therefore not be considered direct replacements without first checking the design.

If the project has a custom bearing housing, consider the LM10LUU long linear bearing. Installation compatibility will depend on the housing and bearing-retention system.
