Motion wheel for compatible V-Slot guiding systems, manufactured from POM and fitted with a 625ZZ ball bearing. Its outer running surface has a central section and bevelled edges designed to roll against a matching rail geometry.

The 24 mm outer diameter and nominal 5 mm axle size are commonly used in motion carriages for 3D printers, light CNC machines and automated structures. All dimensions and the rail contact geometry must be checked before using it as a replacement.

Compatibility

Compatibility must be checked by comparing the 24 mm diameter, 10.2 mm width, nominal 5 mm axle and, most importantly, the shape of the rail on which the wheel runs.

The V-Slot designation alone does not guarantee that this wheel can replace every wheel used on a 3D printer. Plate hole spacing, spacers, axle position and the carriage's eccentric adjustment must also be considered.

When the carriage plate has a suitable mounting hole, a 6 mm eccentric spacer for V-Slot systems can be used to adjust wheel pressure against the profile. Check the plate dimensions before combining these components.

Differences from other wheels

This version has a 24 mm diameter and a bevelled outer running surface. For more compact mechanisms, see the 15 mm V-Slot wheel with MR115ZZ bearing.

If the system requires a wheel with a clearly defined peripheral V groove, use the 24 mm V-groove wheel with 625ZZ bearing after checking its dimensions. These geometries must not be treated as automatically interchangeable.

Installation and adjustment

The wheel is installed on a nominal 5 mm axle or bolt. The assembly must allow the bearing to rotate freely without applying lateral compression or allowing the POM body to rub against the mounting plate.

When an eccentric adjustment is used, tighten it only enough to remove play. Insufficient pressure allows the carriage to rock, while excessive preload increases rolling resistance and accelerates wear of the wheel and bearing.
