10A Omron
Omron G3NB-210B-1 solid-state relay for controlling AC loads from a 5 to 24 V DC signal. Its 24 to 220 V AC output is particularly suitable for resistive heaters, automation and properly protected mains-powered heated beds.

What the 10 A rating actually means
Permissible current depends on heat removal. Omron specifies 10 A at 40 °C when installed with the Y92B-N50 heat sink and a thin layer of thermal compound. Without a heat sink, the stated limit at 40 °C is 4 A. Ambient temperature, ventilation, orientation, switching pattern and enclosure space must also be included in the design.
The on-state voltage drop may reach 1.6 V RMS and that loss becomes heat. The relay must therefore not be selected from load current alone or mounted directly onto plastic.
Terminals and wiring
| Terminal | Function |
|---|---|
| 1 and 2 | AC output, wired in series with line and the load |
| 3 (+) | Positive DC control signal |
| 4 (−) | Negative DC control signal |
This model switches alternating current. It is not a MOSFET replacement for a 12 or 24 V DC bed. Input polarity must be observed.
3D-printer integration
The controller's heater output drives only the SSR input; the mains heater uses a separate power circuit and the temperature sensor remains connected to the controller. In Marlin, thermal protections must remain enabled and the selected control mode must suit the SSR; hysteretic bang-bang provides spaced switching, while bed PID must be checked and tuned for the actual installation. In Klipper, configure it as heater_bed or heater_generic, retain verify_heater and choose a suitable pwm_cycle_time. In RepRapFirmware, sensor, output, control and temperature limit are defined with M308, M950, M307 and M143.
Do not copy switching frequencies, limits or PID values from another machine without validating the relay, heater, sensor, thermal mass and protection system.
Installation safety
This product handles mains voltage. It must be installed by a qualified person, with power isolated and inside a closed enclosure, using protected terminals, suitable cable size, terminals, protective earth and circuit protection.
An SSR may leak current while off and may fail short-circuit. It is neither a maintenance isolator nor the only protection: use mechanical disconnection, overcurrent protection and an independent thermal cut-out that does not rely on firmware or the SSR.
It is best suited to resistive loads. Motors, transformers, lamps and capacitive loads can draw starting currents far above their nominal current and require specific selection.
This product is for you if
- You need to control a resistive AC heater from a 5–24 V DC signal.
- You want an Omron reference with documented thermal limits and zero-cross switching.
- You will size the heat sink, protection and enclosure for the real current.
This product is not for you if
- Your load operates at 12 or 24 V DC.
- You need 10 A continuously but cannot provide the required heat sink and ventilation.
- You expect it to replace a main isolator, thermal fuse or electrical protection.
If you need wider control and load-voltage ranges, see our 40 A nominal SSR-40DA. It is a different alternative rather than a drop-in replacement: its usable current must be determined with margin and without assuming the Omron thermal curves.
