3DLAC is a Spanish-made aerosol adhesive designed to improve first-layer adhesion to the printing surface. It helps reduce corner lifting and warping when printing materials such as PLA, ABS, PETG, Nylon and TPU, provided that the bed, temperature and first-layer settings are correctly adjusted.

Its 400ml format is suitable for frequent use. The manufacturer states more than 400 applications per can, although actual performance depends on bed size, spraying distance and the amount applied each time.

400ml 3DLAC aerosol adhesive for 3D printer build plates

What problems can it help prevent?

  • Corner lifting during printing.
  • Movement of the first layer.
  • Warping caused by material contraction.
  • Loss of adhesion during long prints or parts with a large base.

3DLAC is an adhesion aid, but it cannot correct an incorrectly levelled bed, unsuitable Z offset, contaminated surface, incorrect temperatures or a first layer printed too quickly or too far from the bed.

How to use

  1. Shake the aerosol thoroughly before use.
  2. Make sure the printing surface is clean, dry and cold.
  3. If the plate is removable, take it out of the printer to avoid spraying fans, guides, electronics or heating components.
  4. Apply a thin, even layer from approximately 20-30cm away.
  5. Allow it to dry before starting the print.
  6. After printing, allow the bed and part to cool before attempting removal.
  7. Invert the aerosol and spray briefly after use to help keep the nozzle clear.

Start with a thin layer and only increase the amount slightly if necessary. Excessive application may cause residue buildup or unnecessarily strong adhesion.

Materials and printing surfaces

The manufacturer documents its use with PLA, ABS, PETG, Nylon and TPU, among other materials. It can be applied to glass, mirrors, aluminium and other smooth surfaces. Current commercial documentation also mentions PEI and BuildTak.

Compatibility should be tested before covering the entire bed, particularly on coated plates, textured surfaces or plastic materials. Some filaments, especially PETG, can bond very strongly to certain surfaces. Perform a small test and follow the build-plate manufacturer's instructions.

Cleaning and maintenance

When adhesive has accumulated, allow the plate to cool and remove it from the printer where possible. Clean it with water and a non-abrasive cloth. Before using another cleaner, make sure it is compatible with the fitted glass, PEI, BuildTak or other coating.

Do not use metal tools or force the printed part while the bed is hot. Cooling usually makes removal easier and reduces the risk of damaging the glass or coating.

Safety information

Danger: extremely flammable aerosol and pressurised container.

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Use only in a well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid breathing the spray mist.
  • Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, flames and other ignition sources.
  • Do not spray onto a powered printer, hot bed, open flame or electronic components.
  • Do not pierce or burn the container, even after use.
  • Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures above 50°C.
  • Avoid eye contact and always follow the container label and safety data sheet.

Need stronger adhesion?
