T8×2 brass-type spring-loaded anti-backlash nut designed to reduce part of the axial clearance in linear motion systems using an 8 mm trapezoidal lead screw with 2 mm travel per revolution.

The assembly uses two threaded elements working against opposite thread flanks. It may improve behaviour during direction changes when the structure, mounting bracket and alignment are suitable.

Specifications

  • Thread type: T8×2.
  • Nominal diameter: 8 mm.
  • Lead: 2 mm per revolution.
  • Nominal pitch: 2 mm.
  • Common single-start configuration.
  • Brass-type construction.
  • Two threaded sections with a preload spring.
  • Flange with four threaded mounting holes.

Compatibility

Compatible with the T8×2 8 mm trapezoidal lead screw. It must not be used with T8×8 lead screws.

It is an alternative to the T8×2 brass flange nut and the T8×2 POM nut, but requires additional space for the spring and second nut section.

Installation and adjustment

  • Confirm that the spring maintains preload without binding the mechanism.
  • Align the nut and lead screw before tightening the flange.
  • Manually check the full axis travel for tight spots.
  • Do not increase preload to correct a bent lead screw or misaligned bracket.
  • Periodically check wear, clearance and spring condition.

Configuration

The anti-backlash mechanism does not change the lead-screw travel. With a 200-step motor, the theoretical values are 1600 steps/mm at 1/16 and 3200 steps/mm at 1/32 microstepping. In Klipper, use rotation_distance: 2 as a starting value.

Package contents

  • 1 T8×2 spring-loaded anti-backlash nut assembly.
