T8×2 Ø8 mm Trapezoidal Lead Screw with Brass Nut – Select Length

T8×2 trapezoidal lead screw with an 8 mm nominal diameter, designed to convert motor rotation into accurate linear motion. It is supplied with a brass-type flange nut and is available in several selectable lengths.

The T8×2 designation indicates an 8 mm nominal diameter and a lead of 2 mm per revolution. It provides less travel per turn than a T8×8 lead screw and may suit Z axes, small actuators, CNC equipment and mechanisms where resolution and mechanical advantage are prioritised over speed.

Available lengths

The required length must be selected before purchase. This description applies to every available option, but the supplied length depends on the selected variant.

Compatibility

Compatible with T8×2 nuts such as the T8×2 brass flange nut, the T8×2 brass spring-loaded anti-backlash nut and the T8×2 POM nut.

It must not be used with T8×8 nuts. Although both families have an 8 mm nominal diameter, their lead, number of starts and thread geometry differ.

Motion configuration

Firmware configuration depends on the lead-screw travel, motor step angle and driver microstepping. With a 200-step motor, the theoretical values are:

• 1/16 microstepping: 1600 steps/mm.
• 1/32 microstepping: 3200 steps/mm.

In Klipper, the mechanical starting value is rotation_distance: 2. Marlin and RepRapFirmware must use the steps-per-millimetre value corresponding to the installed motor and driver. Check and calibrate the actual travel after assembly.

Installation

• Align the lead screw, nut and supports before tightening the assembly.
• Do not force the lead screw to compensate for a misaligned mounting.
• Confirm that the selected length allows the required travel without interference.
• Keep the thread clean and only use a lubricant suitable for the machine.
