This T8×8 trapezoidal flange nut is manufactured from a brass-type copper alloy and converts the rotation of an 8 mm lead screw into linear movement. It is commonly used on the Z axes of 3D printers, small CNC machines, lifting mechanisms and automation projects.
The T8×8 designation indicates a nominal diameter of 8 mm and a lead of 8 mm for each complete revolution of the screw. This configuration normally uses a four-start thread with a 2 mm pitch.

These are nominal dimensions taken from the product reference drawing. If the nut will be installed in a machined component or a close-tolerance holder, check the dimensions of the supplied unit before manufacturing the mounting part.
Compatibility
Compatible with the T8×8 trapezoidal 8 mm lead screw available in different lengths and with other lead screws having the same diameter, pitch, lead and number of thread starts.
It is not automatically interchangeable with T8×2 or T8×4 nuts. Although these references may all use an 8 mm nominal screw diameter, their lead and thread geometry are different. Confirm that the lead screw is T8×8 before replacing the nut.
Steps-per-millimetre configuration
The steps-per-millimetre value depends on the screw lead, the full steps per motor revolution and the microstepping configuration of the driver. With a 200-step motor and a driver configured for 1/32 microstepping, the theoretical value is 800 steps per millimetre.
- 200-step motor with 1/16 microstepping: 400 steps/mm.
- 200-step motor with 1/32 microstepping: 800 steps/mm.
These values are starting points. Firmware configuration and calibration by measuring the actual movement may be required after installation.
Installation and maintenance
- Secure the flange through its four 3.5 mm mounting holes.
- Align the nut with the lead screw before fully tightening the mounting screws.
- Do not force the lead screw to compensate for an incorrectly aligned assembly.
- Keep the thread clean and use a compatible lubricant when required by the application.
- Periodically check wear, backlash and mounting-screw tightness.
