GT2 20T toothed idler pulley with bearing for 6 mm belt, 3 mm bore

GT2 20-tooth idler pulley with an integrated bearing, suitable for guiding and tensioning 6 mm GT2 belts on a nominal 3 mm axle or screw.

The teeth engage with the toothed side of the belt, while the side flanges help maintain its position. The bearing allows the pulley to rotate freely instead of being fixed to the axle like a drive pulley.

Advantages of the 20T format

A 20-tooth pulley provides a larger belt bending radius than a 16-tooth pulley. This can reduce repeated belt flexing, although it also requires more space and slightly changes the belt path.

The tooth count is part of the mechanical design. Do not replace a 16T pulley with a 20T pulley without checking the bracket, tensioner position, belt length and possible interference.

Installation and adjustment

• Secure the bearing through its inner race.
• Prevent washers or brackets from pressing against the pulley flanges.
• Check that the pulley rotates freely after tightening the screw.
• Align it with the rest of the belt path to prevent lateral rubbing.
• Do not apply more belt tension than required to remove play.

Compatibility

It is compatible with 2 mm-pitch, 6 mm-wide GT2 belts, including our standard fibreglass-reinforced GT2 belt and wear-resistant coated GT2 belt.

It can be used in 3D printer and CNC axes whose design explicitly specifies a 20T toothed idler with a 3 mm bore. Check the dimensions of the particular machine version before treating it as a direct replacement for a RepRap or Prusa i3-derived assembly.

When the smooth back of the belt contacts the pulley, use the 20T smooth idler with a 3 mm bore.
