GT2 36-tooth timing pulley for 6 mm belts and 5 mm shafts, made of aluminium and fitted with a hub for grub-screw fastening.
It can be used as a large drive pulley or as a driven pulley in a belt reduction. Its function and required configuration depend on its position within the transmission.

Installation
The 5 mm bore is dimensionally compatible with certain NEMA 17 motors and other Ø5 mm shafts. Check the actual shaft diameter, available hub clearance and flat-section position.
Whenever possible, tighten the grub-screw hardware against the flat section of the shaft. Check that the pulley rotates without wobble and that the belt is aligned with the rest of the mechanism.
Compatibility
It is compatible with 6 mm GT2 belts, including our standard fibreglass-reinforced GT2 belt and wear-resistant coated 6 mm GT2 belt.
It should not be treated as a direct replacement for a 16T or 20T pulley. Changing the tooth count affects speed, travel per revolution, available torque and firmware configuration.
When used as a driven pulley, pairing it with a 20T drive pulley provides a theoretical 1.8:1 reduction. Pairing it with a 16T drive pulley provides a 2.25:1 reduction. Actual torque gain will be lower than the theoretical value because of mechanical losses.
Firmware configuration
If the 36T pulley directly drives a GT2 belt:
36 teeth × 2 mm = 72 mm per revolution
With a 1.8° motor, 200 full steps per revolution and 16 microsteps, this theoretically corresponds to 44.444 steps/mm.

rotation_distance: 72. - RepRapFirmware: configure the axis with
M92inconfig.g.
Do not use these values when the pulley forms part of a reduction. In that case, include the ratio between the driving and driven pulleys and the mechanism connected to the output.
