Mechanical compatibility

It is designed to operate on a 10 mm calibrated smooth shaft. It is not compatible with 8 or 12 mm shafts, threaded rods or lead screws.

It can be used in CNC machines, 3D printers and other equipment designed for SC10UU bearing blocks. Some CNC 1610, 2418 and 3018 variants use 10 mm shafts on one or more axes, but several mechanical revisions exist. Before using it as a replacement, check the actual shaft diameter, mounting-hole spacing, shaft centre height and available installation space.

It should not be considered a direct replacement for an unsupported LM10UU linear bearing. Both operate on 10 mm shafts, but the SC10UU incorporates its own mounting base and changes the mounting interface and shaft height. Installing it in a machine originally designed for LM10UU bearings may require a redesigned or replacement carriage.

It is also not a direct replacement for printers such as the Creality Ender-3 or CR-10 families, whose original motion systems use wheels running on aluminium profiles rather than SC10UU bearing blocks.

SC10UU or SC10LUU

The SC10UU provides a compact format with a nominal length of 35 mm. When the design requires a longer guiding surface or greater resistance to carriage rotation, consider the SC10LUU long linear bearing with housing. Its dimensions and mounting points must be checked before replacing one format with the other.

Related components

The shaft ends can be secured using the SK10 support for 10 mm shafts or the SHF10 support for 10 mm shafts, depending on the machine geometry and mounting system.

Installation recommendations

• Use a straight, smooth shaft with a surface finish suitable for linear bearings.
• Clean the shaft before insertion to prevent particles from entering the bearing.
• Check the alignment between parallel shafts before fully tightening their supports.
• Do not force misaligned bearings, as this will increase friction and wear.
• Keep the shaft clean and lubricated with a product suitable for linear bearings.
