ID 4mm Cut To Size
M3 or M4 - 7.5x20
Helical compression spring with a nominal 4mm inside diameter, available in several lengths. It may be used in adjustable 3D-printer mechanisms, extruders, heated beds and mechanical projects that require pressure between two components.
Its continuous format allows a suitable section to be selected or cut for each application from the available lengths.
Features
- Type: helical compression spring.
- Nominal inside diameter: 4mm.
- Allows M3 and M4 screws to pass through.
- Can be cut to adapt its length.
- Available in several lengths.
Available lengths
- 1cm.
- 2cm.
- 3cm.
- Complete 50cm length.
Select the required length before adding the product to the basket.
Typical applications
- Manual heated-bed adjustment.
- Extruder tensioning mechanisms.
- Adjustable pressure systems.
- Return mechanisms for levers or moving components.
- Custom prototypes and mechanical assemblies.
Screw compatibility
The 4mm internal clearance provides room for an M3 screw. It may also be used with M4 screws when actual dimensions and assembly tolerances permit, although the fit will be closer.
For heated-bed use, check the required length, available clearance and adjustment range. For a ready-made four-point assembly, consider the M3 heated-bed mounting and levelling kit.
Important technical information
The spring rate, maximum load, outside diameter, wire diameter and exact material are not specified. It should therefore not be selected for a critical application based solely on its inside diameter.
Reducing its length decreases the number of active coils and changes its mechanical behaviour. Final pressure also depends on how far the spring is compressed during installation.
Cutting and safety
- Use a suitable tool for steel and wear eye protection.
- Secure the spring so the cut section cannot be projected away.
- Cut ends may remain sharp and should be carefully positioned or deburred.
- Do not fully compress the spring if adjustment travel must be retained.
