Screw compatibility
The 4mm internal clearance provides room for an M3 screw. It may also be used with M4 screws when actual dimensions and assembly tolerances permit, although the fit will be closer.
For heated-bed use, check the required length, available clearance and adjustment range. For a ready-made four-point assembly, consider the M3 heated-bed mounting and levelling kit.
Important technical information
The spring rate, maximum load, outside diameter, wire diameter and exact material are not specified. It should therefore not be selected for a critical application based solely on its inside diameter.
Reducing its length decreases the number of active coils and changes its mechanical behaviour. Final pressure also depends on how far the spring is compressed during installation.
Cutting and safety
- Use a suitable tool for steel and wear eye protection.
- Secure the spring so the cut section cannot be projected away.
- Cut ends may remain sharp and should be carefully positioned or deburred.
- Do not fully compress the spring if adjustment travel must be retained.
