DIN 913 / ISO 4026 A2 Stainless Steel Flat-Point Set Screw
Headless set screw with an internal hex socket and flat point, made from A2 stainless steel. It is used to secure pulleys, gears, couplings, shaft collars and other components to a shaft when the assembly has a compatible metric thread.
Available sizes
- M3: 5 and 10 mm.
- M4: 5 and 10 mm.
- M5: 5 and 10 mm.
- M6: 8 and 12 mm.
- M8: 6 and 10 mm.
In the M × L designation, the metric size is the nominal thread diameter and the length is the overall set-screw length.
Features and nominal dimensions
| Thread | Pitch | Hex key |
|---|---|---|
| M3 | 0.5 mm | 1.5 mm |
| M4 | 0.7 mm | 2 mm |
| M5 | 0.8 mm | 2.5 mm |
| M6 | 1 mm | 3 mm |
| M8 | 1.25 mm | 4 mm |
- Reference standards: DIN 913 and ISO 4026.
- Type: headless set screw.
- Point: flat.
- Material: A2 stainless steel.
- Thread: metric and fully threaded.
- Drive: internal hex socket.
Applications
It can be used for pulleys, gears, motor and lead-screw couplings, shaft collars and other mechanical adjustments. A prepared flat on the shaft may improve positioning, but holding performance depends on material, tightening torque, thread engagement and assembly loads.
Check the thread size and pitch, available length and required hex key. Shaft diameter or machine model alone cannot confirm compatibility. It is not a direct replacement for a headed screw in joints that require a bearing surface or tensile-load support.
The product may have a minimum order quantity. Units are counted by weight, so an approximate tolerance of up to 5% is accepted.
For a fastener with a bearing head, see the DIN 933 / ISO 4017 hex head screw, provided that its thread, length and strength are suitable.
