This 250 × 250 mm flexible steel sheet for a magnetic bed has PEI/Ultem coating on both sides: one textured and one smooth. Choose the finish you want on the underside of your print and remove the part by gently flexing the sheet after it has cooled.

250 by 250 mm flexible steel sheet with one textured and one smooth PEI printing surface

Key features

  • Nominal size: 250 × 250 mm.
  • Substrate: flexible spring-steel sheet, removable from a suitable magnetic bed.
  • Printing surfaces: PEI/Ultem on both sides, textured on one face and smooth on the other.
  • Magnetic base: required for retention and not part of the steel sheet. If your bed does not have one, see the cut-to-size adhesive magnetic sheet and check which available format can be adapted to your platform.

Size and first-layer setup

Measure the physical bed, not just the advertised print volume. The steel sheet must be fully supported by the magnetic base without interfering with screws, clips, wiring, frame or toolhead travel. A printer described as “250” does not by itself guarantee a 250 × 250 mm sheet will fit. After installation, check bed levelling, first-layer height and Z offset again; if you use an inductive probe, verify its trigger position with the complete bed assembly.

The existing recommendations for this sheet family suggest 60 °C for PLA, 70–80 °C for PETG/PCTG and 100 °C for ABS as starting points. They are not universal settings: follow the filament's requirements, your heated-bed capability and the temperature rating of the particular magnetic base. ABS printing also depends on the machine enclosure.

Use and care

Both sides can be used. An excessively squashed first layer can bond too strongly and damage the PEI during removal. For PETG or PCTG, consider a compatible release barrier if adhesion is excessive, and test with a small print first. Let the sheet cool, preferably to room temperature, before flexing it. Keep both the printing surface and magnetic contact side clean; avoid aggressive scrapers or solvents not suitable for the coating.

If you need another size, this family also includes 220 × 220 mm and 300 × 300 mm sheets. Select by the actual bed dimensions and clearance; different sizes are not automatically interchangeable.
