ISO 7380 button head hex socket screw, manufactured from class 10.9 steel with a black oxide finish. Its low rounded head provides a neat appearance and protrudes less than a conventional cylindrical socket head.

It is suitable for enclosures, panels, aluminium profiles, printed parts, 3D printers, CNC machines and mechanical assemblies requiring a compact visible head with an internal hex drive.

Available sizes

Thread Available lengths Pitch Head Ø × height Hex key
M3 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm 0.5 mm 5.7 × 1.65 mm 2 mm
M4 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm 0.7 mm 7.6 × 2.2 mm 2.5 mm

M6 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm 1 mm 10.5 × 3.3 mm 4 mm

Length is measured from the underside of the head to the end of the screw; the head height is not included in the selected length.

Features

  • Low rounded button head.
  • Internal hex drive.
  • Material: steel.
  • Property class: 10.9.
  • Black oxide finish.
  • Standard-pitch metric thread.

Mechanical considerations

Class 10.9 identifies the material properties, but the reduced ISO 7380 head geometry limits the load and torque that can be transmitted compared with a cylindrical head of the same thread size. It should not be treated as mechanically equivalent solely because the diameter and steel class match.

For demanding assemblies or where a larger head section is required, the DIN 912 / ISO 4762 socket head cap screw may be more suitable.

An A2 stainless steel ISO 7380 version in M5 is also available when corrosion resistance is the priority. The two versions should not be assumed to provide identical mechanical performance.

Select the same thread diameter and pitch as the nut or tapped hole. Also check the required length, available head clearance and the bearing capacity of the mating part.
