Cylindrical neodymium magnet measuring 6 mm in diameter and 3 mm thick. Its compact format is useful for magnetic closures, removable covers, fixtures and 3D-printed parts designed with an Ø6 × 3 mm magnet pocket.

Cylindrical neodymium magnet measuring 6 mm in diameter and 3 mm thick

Features

  • Shape: disc or cylinder.
  • Nominal diameter: 6 mm.
  • Nominal thickness: 3 mm.
  • Commercial material: neodymium.
  • Silver-coloured metallic outer finish.
  • Contents: 1 magnet.

The magnetic grade, pull force, tolerance, exact coating and maximum temperature are not specified for this item. If your project depends on any of these values, do not treat magnets as interchangeable merely because they share the same nominal dimensions.

Compatible with Nevermore Micro

The official Nevermore Micro V6 documentation uses eight 6 × 3 mm magnets: four in the plenum and four in the removable cartridge. Nevermore Micro V5 also uses eight round Ø6 × 3 mm magnets. Check that you printed the parts intended for this size and remember that each magnet is sold separately.

Installation in printed parts

  1. Check the actual diameter and depth of the pocket: material shrinkage and printer calibration can change the fit.
  2. Place all magnets before applying adhesive and mark their orientation. Reversed polarity can make the parts repel each other.
  3. Do not hammer the magnet into place. An excessively tight pocket may chip the magnet or crack the printed part.
  4. If adhesive is required, choose one compatible with both the polymer and the metallic finish and keep it away from mating surfaces.

Safety precautions

  • This is not a toy. Keep away from children and animals; swallowed magnets require urgent medical attention.
  • Avoid impacts and sudden attraction between magnets, as they may pinch or chip.
  • Keep away from cards, magnetic storage, watches, sensors and sensitive equipment.
  • People with pacemakers or other implanted medical devices should keep magnets away and follow the device manufacturer's or healthcare professional's advice.
  • Do not expose to intense heat when the batch limit is unknown: high temperature may reduce magnetic strength or damage the selected adhesive.

To prepare an air-recirculation filter, these magnets can be combined with activated carbon for Nevermore, always following the bill of materials for the exact project revision.
