12 AWG Black Flexible Silicone Wire – Tinned Copper, 1m

Black 12 AWG flexible electrical wire made with a stranded tinned-copper conductor and silicone insulation. It is supplied in a 1-metre length for making power connections in 3D printers, CNC machines, electronics, robotics and other DC projects.

The stranded conductor and flexible insulation make routing inside frames and electronics enclosures easier. Black insulation can be used to identify the return or negative conductor when following the usual colour convention.

Selection and installation

Permissible current cannot be determined from the wire gauge alone. Cable length, voltage drop, ambient temperature, bundling, ventilation and the rating of the connectors and terminals must also be considered.

Use ferrules or terminals suitable for 12 AWG wire and the correct crimping tool. For screw-terminal connections, a soldered wire end should not be used as a substitute for a properly crimped ferrule.

Although black is commonly used for the negative conductor, always verify polarity before applying power.
