Red 1.9 × 4 mm PTFE Tube for 1.75 mm Filament

Red polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tube with a 1.9 mm internal diameter and 4 mm external diameter. It is mainly intended to guide 1.75 mm filament in direct-drive extruders, where the smaller internal diameter helps guide the filament with limited clearance.

It is supplied by the metre. If you need a longer length, you can select several units and we can prepare a continuous section up to 25 m, subject to availability. Always allow extra length for routing, fittings and cuts.

Nominal dimensions

  • Internal diameter: 1.9 mm.
  • External diameter: 4 mm.
  • Intended filament: 1.75 mm.
  • Colour: red.
  • Sold as: 1 m sections.

Compatibility and installation

Because of its 1.9 mm internal diameter, it is recommended for short runs and direct-drive extruders. It is not the usual choice for a long Bowden system: clearance is smaller than with 2 mm ID tubing and friction can increase if the filament, fittings or route are not perfectly aligned.

Before installation, cut the ends squarely and check that the tube is fully inserted into the relevant fitting or guide. Avoid tight bends, crushing and internal burrs, as these can increase feed resistance and cause under-extrusion.

PTFE has a broad temperature-resistance range as a material, but the safe limit for this tube depends on its actual position. Do not insert it into the melt zone or into a hotend that requires a specific internal tube without first confirming thermal compatibility.

If you need the more common 2 mm internal diameter with 4 mm outside diameter, also see the blue PTFE tube or black PTFE tube.
