100K NTC Beta 3950 hotend thermistor with a 3 mm cylindrical 304 stainless-steel capsule, 1 metre cable and XH connector. Its encapsulated construction provides a robust fit in heater blocks designed for cylindrical temperature sensors.

Compatibility

It can be installed in the V6 Heater Block for 3 mm Encapsulated Sensors, M6 Thread and the Brass V6 Heater Block for 3 mm Encapsulated Sensors, M6 Thread, provided that the housing depth and retaining system are also suitable.

Before connection, verify that the controller uses the same connector and pinout. The XH format alone does not guarantee compatibility with a particular printer.

Firmware configuration

  • Marlin 2.1.x: type 11 for an input with a 4.7 kΩ pull-up, or type 1000 with the actual sensor parameters. Firmware compilation and installation are required.
  • Klipper: sensor_type: Generic 3950, with pullup_resistor set to the actual value when required.
  • RepRapFirmware 3: configure the sensor with M308 as a T100000 B3950 thermistor.

Marlin table 1 should not be used as the default recommendation: its Beta 4092 curve can progressively underestimate the temperature of a Beta 3950 sensor.

Safe installation

The installation temperature is limited by the least heat-resistant part of the assembly, including the cable, insulation, connector and hotend. Check the cold reading and carry out a progressive heating test before high-temperature operation.
