300 × 300 mm, 24 V, 300 W adhesive flexible silicone heater for bonding beneath a compatible aluminium plate and building a large-format heated bed. It is supplied wired and includes a 100K B3950 NTC thermistor with an XH2.54 connector.

The adhesive format transfers heat to the plate without a bulky clamping system. Its 12.5 A nominal current, however, means that the power supply, switching stage, fuse, connectors and wiring must all be correctly sized.

Power supply and switching stage

The 24 V power supply must cover the bed's 300 W load while retaining capacity for motors, hotend, fans, electronics and every other simultaneous load. Supplying 24 V is not enough: the PSU must also provide the complete continuous current without operating at its limit.

Do not connect the heater directly to a controller merely because both use 24 V. The output, onboard MOSFET, fuse, terminals and PCB traces must be rated for the load. Without that confirmation, use an external DC stage such as the 30 A FYSETC MOSFET module, with suitable cooling, connections and protection. Its nominal rating does not replace thermal verification at 12.5 A.

Mechanical and electrical compatibility

It is suitable for approximately 300 mm 3D-printer bed projects with a flat underside measuring at least 300 × 300 mm, a 24 V supply and a switching stage prepared for 12.5 A. Before purchasing, check the actual available area, screws, recesses, cable exit and moving path.

It is not automatically a direct replacement for every printer advertised as 300 × 300 mm: printable area may differ from plate size, while voltage, power, geometry, connectors and control electronics may also vary.

Installation

  1. Measure the underside of the plate and offer up the heater before removing the liner.
  2. Check for a cold resistance close to 1.92 Ω, allowing for meter and probe accuracy.
  3. Degrease and dry a flat aluminium plate.
  4. Bond progressively from one edge without bubbles, folds or stress on the silicone.
  5. Never cut, drill, crease or attempt to reposition the heater.
  6. Add strain relief so bed movement is not transferred to the electrical joint.
  7. Use temperature-compatible insulation beneath the bed without hiding connections that require inspection.

Thermistor configuration

The sensor is a generic 100K B3950 NTC. After configuration, compare its cold reading with ambient temperature and verify heating with an independent instrument before relying on closed-loop control.

Marlin

On electronics using the common 4.7 kΩ pull-up, the usual starting option for this curve is:

#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 11

Keep THERMAL_PROTECTION_BED enabled. If bed PID is enabled and the power stage supports that switching method, it can be tuned at the intended working temperature; for example, M303 E-1 C8 S60 runs eight cycles at 60°C. Do not run autotune until the sensor, polarity, power stage and safeguards have been checked.

Klipper

Use sensor_type: Generic 3950 inside [heater_bed]. The correct sensor_pin and heater_pin depend on the board and must not be copied from another machine. Once the assembly has been verified, run PID_CALIBRATE HEATER=heater_bed TARGET=60 followed by SAVE_CONFIG.

RepRapFirmware

The curve can be defined with an M308 command using T100000 B3950; the documentation gives M308 S0 P"bed_temp" Y"thermistor" T100000 B3950 A"Bed" as an example. Replace the sensor number and port with those required by the exact controller and revision.

Protection and commissioning

  • Dedicated fuse on the bed supply branch.
  • Wires, terminals and connectors with adequate current capacity.
  • Non-resettable thermal fuse in contact with the plate and capable of interrupting the heater.
  • Firmware thermal-runaway protection enabled and tested.
  • Supervised staged commissioning while checking PSU, fuse, MOSFET, connections and plate uniformity.

Firmware protection does not replace a thermal fuse. The complete system's temperature limit also depends on the plate, adhesive, insulation, sensor, wiring and build surface; it must not be inferred solely from the heater material.

This is for you if

  • You are building an approximately 300 mm bed with a 24 V supply.
  • You can correctly design a 12.5 A circuit.
  • You need an adhesive heater with an integrated B3950 thermistor.

This is not for you if

  • Your board, PSU or wiring cannot support the complete load.
  • The usable underside is smaller than 300 × 300 mm or contains obstructions.
  • You need a complete print-ready bed: the aluminium plate and build surface are not included.
