400 × 400 mm, 220 V, 800 W adhesive flexible silicone heater for a large aluminium bed plate. It includes approximately 1 m wiring and a 100K NTC with XH2.54 connector.

Mains voltage: installation requires a qualified person, AC switching, mains protection, plate earthing and a thermal cut-out independent of firmware.

Specifications

  • Calculated at 220 V: 3.64 A and 60.5 Ω.

System design

  • AC SSR/contactor for a resistive load with thermal margin.
  • Correct fuse/breaker and RCD.
  • Low-impedance protective earth on the metal plate.
  • Non-resettable thermal fuse in series; a second independent control is advisable.
  • Mains connection enclosure, low-voltage segregation and strain relief.

The SSR-40DA is only a candidate after calculating usable current and heatsinking. Its front-panel current is not a continuous no-heatsink guarantee.

Installation and verification

  1. Check dimensions, resistance, insulation and condition before removing the liner.
  2. Bond to a clean, flat plate without bubbles; never reposition, fold, cut or drill.
  3. Fit earth, thermal fuse and protected wiring before energising.
  4. Enable thermal protection and SSR-compatible control.
  5. Commission in supervised stages and verify uniformity with an independent instrument.

It is for you if

  • You are building a fixed 400 mm bed and can implement every mains and thermal safeguard.

It is not for you if

  • Your controller only switches 12/24 V loads.
  • You cannot install independent protective earth and thermal cut-out.
