Eccentric spacer for adjusting wheel preload in V-Slot motion systems. Its off-centre bore slightly changes the axle position when the hexagonal body is rotated, moving the wheel closer to or farther away from the profile.
This adjustment helps remove carriage play without repositioning the wheel, plate or profile. It is commonly used in 3D printers, CNC machines and other mechanisms fitted with V-Slot wheels.
Features and dimensions
- Material: carbon steel.
- Inner bore: Ø5 mm, for M5 hardware.
- Hexagonal body: 10 mm.
- Body height: 6 mm.
- Approximate overall height: 6.5 mm, including the locating boss.
- Locating boss diameter: Ø7.11 mm.
- Eccentric offset shown in the drawing: 0.79 mm.

V-Slot carriage adjustment
Rotate the hexagonal body in small increments while checking carriage movement. The wheel should remain in contact with the profile without lateral play, while still rolling smoothly.
Excessive preload can increase movement resistance, accelerate wheel wear or deform the wheel. The eccentric spacer should only be used for adjustment; the corresponding screw and nut provide the final fastening.
Compatibility
It is dimensionally compatible with assemblies using M5 hardware, a nominal 6 mm spacing and a plate designed to accept the Ø7.11 mm locating boss. It can be used with our V-Slot wheels with 625ZZ bearings and other wheels with a nominal 5 mm axle, provided that the complete carriage geometry is suitable.
The use of V-Slot wheels alone does not guarantee compatibility. Check the plate bore, required spacing and clearance around the hexagonal body before replacing an existing spacer.
Where required by the carriage design, it can be combined on the fixed side with the 5 × 8 × 6 mm V-Slot spacer.
