3DNYLON 30 ml is a brush-on adhesive specifically developed to improve the first layer when printing nylon or polyamide (PA) filaments. It helps keep the part attached to the bed and reduce corner lifting, a common challenge with this material.

The applicator makes it possible to spread a thin, even film only over the print area, providing better quantity control than an aerosol. The manufacturer targets pure nylon or filaments containing at least 95% PA.

How to apply 3DNYLON

  1. Switch the bed off and allow it to cool before handling the adhesive.
  2. Clean the surface and remove dust, grease and any other adhesive residue.
  3. Press the cap down and turn it anticlockwise to release the safety closure.
  4. Wipe excess liquid from the brush against the inside of the bottle.
  5. Spread a thin, even layer over the area occupied by the part; the entire bed does not need to be covered.
  6. Close the bottle immediately and allow the film to dry completely.
  7. Heat the bed and start printing with the settings recommended for the particular nylon.

Applying a thin film of 3DNYLON with its brush to a glass print bed

Do not mix 3DNYLON with other adhesives. Besides making an even film more difficult, the manufacturer warns that mixing products may impair effectiveness.

Compatible nylon filaments

It is formulated for pure nylon and filaments containing at least 95% polyamide. Different nylon types and brands may work within this condition, but results still depend on the PA family, additives, moisture, geometry and print profile.

Do not assume automatic compatibility with PA-CF, PA-GF or other reinforced nylons: fibre or filler content may reduce the PA proportion below the stated threshold and alter adhesion. Check the filament data sheet and run a short test.

Print surfaces

The manufacturer particularly recommends smooth surfaces such as glass. Before applying it to smooth or textured PEI, flexible sheets, polymer coatings or other beds, check that surface's instructions and test a small, inconspicuous area.

A strong adhesive may also make removal difficult or damage some coatings. Let the bed cool completely before separating the part and do not force the surface.

Reducing nylon warping

3DNYLON supports first-layer adhesion but cannot eliminate warping by itself. A stable result also requires:

  • Drying and storing nylon according to its data sheet.
  • Levelling the bed and setting first-layer height and flow correctly.
  • Using the bed temperature specified for that particular PA.
  • Avoiding draughts and using an enclosure when required by the material and machine.
  • Considering a brim, part orientation and geometry for large parts or sharp corners.

Part removal and cleaning

Wait for the bed to cool. Remove the part carefully and use a scraper only if the surface permits it. Residue can be cleaned with water or isopropyl alcohol; avoid strong solvents and always follow the build plate instructions. Let the surface dry completely before reapplying.

Safety and storage

The safety data sheet declares a mixture containing 20-50% isopropanol and warns of serious eye irritation and possible drowsiness or dizziness. Use it in a well-ventilated area, avoid breathing vapours and prevent eye and skin contact. Follow the label and safety data sheet supplied with the product.

  • Flammable liquid: keep away from flames, sparks, heat and other ignition sources. Do not smoke during application.
  • Keep out of reach of children and do not ingest.
  • Store tightly closed between 5 and 25 °C in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from sunlight.
  • After eye contact, rinse carefully with water for several minutes and seek assistance if discomfort persists.

Choosing an adhesive

ProductTypical use
3DNYLON 30 mlPure nylon or filaments with a declared minimum of 95% PA.
3DLAC Stick 80 mlSponge application for PLA, PETG and ABS.
3DLAC Plus 100 mlDemanding or reinforced materials after checking the filament and surface.
3DLAC aerosol 400 mlGeneral-purpose adhesive applied away from the printer with suitable ventilation.

This is for you if

  • You print pure nylon or a filament with at least 95% declared PA.
  • You want precise brush application using only the amount required.
  • You want to improve the first layer as part of a correctly tuned nylon profile.

This is not for you if

  • You need guaranteed adhesion for any PA-CF, PA-GF or blend without knowing its composition.
  • Your build surface prohibits adhesives or solvents.
  • You expect adhesive to correct wet nylon, a poorly levelled bed or unsuitable parameters.
