Available Options
Sakata 3D PLA 850 filament is manufactured in Spain using NatureWorks Ingeo 3D850 resin, a PLA grade specifically developed for FDM and FFF 3D printing filament. Compared with general-purpose PLA, it offers faster crystallisation, low shrinkage, good build-plate adhesion and the ability to produce precise parts with a reduced risk of warping.
Its balance between printability and mechanical performance makes it particularly suitable for prototypes, tooling, functional components, decorative models and production applications requiring greater dimensional stability than standard PLA.
Advantages of Ingeo 3D850 PLA
- NatureWorks Ingeo 3D850 raw material developed specifically for 3D printing.
- Faster crystallisation than conventional PLA.
- Low thermal shrinkage and reduced tendency to warp or curl.
- Good adhesion to the printing surface.
- Good detail reproduction and dimensional accuracy.
- Low odour during printing.
- Useful mechanical properties for prototypes and selected functional parts.
- Can be printed without a heated bed, although bed heating may improve adhesion on certain machines and geometries.
- Heat resistance can be improved through a controlled crystallisation or annealing process.
Available colours and formats
This product is available in 1 kg and 5 kg spools depending on the selected option. Not every colour or spool format will necessarily have the same availability at all times.
The range includes the following colour options: Antracita, Militar 2, Militar 1 GC, Granito, Marfil, Negro, Skin Tone 2, Fucsia, Skin Tone 1, Terracota, Chocolate, Oro, Plata, Gris, Verde, Azul, Morado, Rosa, Rojo, Naranja, Amarillo, Blanco, Transparente, Turquesa, Azul Celeste, Rojo Carmín, Amarillo Mango Pastel, Verde Pastel, Baby Pink Pastel and Lila Pastel.
Colours displayed on screen may differ slightly from the actual filament due to monitor settings, lighting, the surface finish of the printed part and possible differences between production batches.
Technical specifications
- Brand: Sakata 3D Filaments.
- Material: PLA 850.
- Raw material: NatureWorks Ingeo 3D850 PLA.
- Compatible technology: FDM and FFF 3D printing.
- Nominal diameter: 1.75 mm.
- Manufacturer-stated tolerance: ±0.05 mm.
- Weight: 1 kg or 5 kg, depending on the selected option.
- Made in Spain.
- Vacuum packed with desiccant.
Recommended print settings
- Nozzle temperature: 205–220 °C.
- Bed temperature: not required; 50–70 °C optional.
- Part-cooling fan: up to 100%.
- Recommended layer height: 0.1–0.3 mm.
- Reference wall thickness used by the manufacturer: 1.2 mm.
- Print speed: up to 120 mm/s under suitable conditions.
These values should be treated as starting points. The optimum temperature and speed depend on the hotend, nozzle, cooling, model geometry, selected colour and the characteristics of each printer.
Heat resistance and crystallisation
Ingeo 3D850 resin can develop greater heat resistance than conventional PLA through a crystallisation or annealing process. The Sakata 3D technical data sheet states a heat deflection temperature of 80–90 °C for fully filled printed specimens annealed at 110 °C for 15 minutes.
This value should not be interpreted as the guaranteed operating temperature of every part immediately after printing. Actual performance depends on the design, printing orientation, infill percentage, crystallisation process and applied mechanical load.
Annealing may cause dimensional shrinkage or deformation. For functional components, carry out preliminary tests, measure the resulting dimensional change and compensate for it during design or slicing.
Recommended applications
- Visual and functional prototypes.
- Tooling and workshop aids.
- Housings, brackets and general-purpose components.
- Models requiring fine details and good surface resolution.
- Production runs using 5 kg spools.
- Parts that may benefit from controlled post-print annealing.
Compatibility
Compatible with FDM and FFF 3D printers designed for 1.75 mm filament. Before selecting a 5 kg spool, check that the spool holder, feeding system and available space can safely accommodate its weight and dimensions.
Other Sakata 3D PLA 850 ranges
In addition to this standard colour range, see the Sakata 3D Ingeo 3D850 fluorescent PLA filament, Sakata 3D recycled Ingeo 3D850 PLA filament, Sakata 3D Ingeo 3D850 Glass translucent PLA filament, Sakata 3D Ingeo 3D850 transition-colour PLA filament and Sakata 3D Ingeo 3D850 Silk PLA filament.
These products belong to the same PLA 850 family, but their finishes, colours and formulations may affect their appearance and require minor printing adjustments.
Storage
Keep the filament dry and protected from moisture. After opening the bag, store it in a sealed container with desiccant to maintain stable extrusion and a consistent surface finish.
