Compatibility

It can be used with two-wire fans and other devices fitted with mechanically and electrically compatible 2-pin XH2.54 connectors.

An apparently identical connector does not guarantee matching polarity. Check the positive and negative positions at both ends before connection. The red wire is normally positive and the black wire negative.

This cable does not convert voltage or increase the capacity of the output. A 5V, 12V or 24V fan must still be connected to a power supply suitable for its rated voltage.

For a custom termination, consider the two-wire fan cable with separate crimped contacts. To power two fans from a single output, consider the 2-pin XH Y-splitter cable for two fans.

Installation recommendations

• Disconnect power before fitting or removing the cable.
• Check voltage and polarity at both connectors.
• Do not force a connector housing that does not fit correctly.
• Keep the cable away from sharp edges, lead screws, belts and moving parts.
• Secure the cable without placing tension on the connectors.
• In particularly sensitive installations, check that the additional cable length does not cause an excessive voltage drop.
