External power adapter for LED lighting, displays, cameras, controllers and other equipment operating at 12 V DC. It can provide up to 5 A and 60 W nominal and accepts a wide-range 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz mains input.

Its enclosed housing, detachable IEC input and included European mains lead provide a clean installation. Compatibility requires a 12 V device, a load within the adapter's capacity, and a matching output connector and polarity.

How to check compatibility

A suitable power adapter must match four requirements:

  1. Voltage: the device must operate at 12 V DC.
  2. Current: its demand must be no more than 5 A, allowing headroom for continuous loads and startup peaks.
  3. Connector: the barrel connector's outer and inner diameters must match.
  4. Polarity: positive and negative must be arranged in the same way as on the device.

A 5 A rating does not force the connected device to draw 5 A. A compatible 12 V device requiring 1 A, 2 A or 3 A will draw only the current it needs.

Important: check the connector geometry and polarity before use. Do not select an adapter solely because another unit looks similar.

Connections and package contents

The adapter has an IEC C14 inlet and is supplied with a detachable European plug to IEC C13 mains cable. Its 12 V output uses a fixed cable ending in a DC barrel connector.
