This stainless-steel all-metal heatbreak is designed for dual hotends using a 7 mm smooth mounting section and an M6 threaded connection to the heater block. It is suitable for 1.75 mm filament and keeps the PTFE tube away from the hottest area of the assembly.

Because the PTFE tube does not extend down to the nozzle, the heatbreak can be used for printing above 260 °C when the heater block, temperature sensor, heater cartridge, wiring and all other hotend components are also rated for the required temperature.

Compatibility

Designed for the dual V6 Chimera-style hotend for 1.75 mm filament and other assemblies requiring an M6 thread and a 7 mm smooth mounting section.

It is not universal for every hotend described as V6. Before replacing an existing heatbreak, check the thread, smooth-section diameter, required length, heatsink bore and PTFE tube position.

Use and configuration

An all-metal heatbreak is suitable when the PTFE tube must be kept away from the hot zone or when printing materials that require elevated temperatures. PLA and flexible filaments may require more careful adjustment of temperature, cooling and retraction than with a PTFE-lined heatbreak.

The heatbreak alone does not determine the maximum operating temperature of the hotend. Before exceeding 260 °C, check the limits of the thermistor or sensor, heater cartridge, block, wiring, connectors and any nearby PTFE components.

Installation recommendations

  • Insert the PTFE tube only as far as the intended stop on the cold side.
  • Ensure that the heatsink receives constant and sufficient cooling.
  • Perform the final nozzle tightening while hot, following the correct procedure.
  • Retune retraction after installation to reduce the risk of jams or molten material being pulled into the cold zone.
