3D Filament PLA Basic is a 1.75 mm FDM/FFF 3D printing filament for decorative parts, scale models, figures, learning and prototypes that do not need high heat resistance or demanding mechanical strength. PLA is generally straightforward to tune and tends to warp less than materials such as ABS, making it useful in open printers and everyday projects.

Each spool contains 1 kg net of filament, with a stated diameter tolerance of ±0.04 mm. It is vacuum packed with desiccant. The catalogue gives an approximate 1.25 kg gross weight, including spool and packaging.

Getting started

Select a generic PLA profile in your slicer for a 1.75 mm filament and the installed nozzle. Treat it as a starting point rather than a final setting for every spool. Try a small print first, then tune nozzle, bed and part cooling to the actual adhesion, finish and extrusion behaviour.

  1. Make sure the print surface is clean and the first layer is firmly laid down without excessive squish.
  2. If you see stringing, check temperature and retraction; the right values depend on the hotend and direct-drive or Bowden extruder.
  3. If the print detaches, check levelling, surface cleanliness and bed setting before excessively raising first-layer flow.
  4. If a stored spool produces bubbles or uneven surface finish, consider controlled-temperature drying within the spool's safe limit; then reseal it with desiccant.

Printer and feeder compatibility

This material suits FDM/FFF printers configured for 1.75 mm PLA. Examples include a Creality Ender 3, Original Prusa MK4S or Bambu Lab A1 when the filament path accepts the spool and an appropriate profile is used. These are material-and-diameter examples, not a claim that a dedicated profile has been tested for this spool.

If you intend to use a multicolour feeder or enclosed spool box, check the spool's physical dimensions and filament route first. Use in an AMS, AMS Lite, CFS or another enclosed system depends on fit and feeder configuration; automatic recognition should not be assumed.

PLA limitations

Standard PLA gives good detail, but it is not the right default for parts exposed to sunshine, heat sources or high mechanical loads without testing. A part may soften or distort in a warm environment such as a car left in the sun. For a project requiring different properties, compare materials and printer requirements before changing filament.
