The BIGTREETECH EBB36 GEN2 V1.0 is a new-generation toolboard for compact toolheads using 36 mm extruder stepper motors. It centralises the motor, heater, fan, probe and sensor connections through a single CAN BUS or USB communication link.
The GEN2 revision features a 64 MHz STM32G0B1 microcontroller, a TMC2209 driver and additional protection on many inputs and outputs. Its architecture and pinout differ from EBB36 CAN V1.x boards, so their configuration files are not interchangeable.

Sensor compatibility
The external temperature input supports NTC thermistors and directly connected PT1000 sensors. The board does not include MAX31865 and must not be described as directly compatible with PT100 sensors. A PT100 requires an external interface or the EBB36 CAN with MAX31865.
Installation and firmware
The board is intended for Klipper systems and can be integrated into custom toolheads, Voron, Rat Rig, VzBot and other conversions when a suitable mount is available. Compatibility is conditional and requires suitable mechanical installation, wiring, power and configuration.
Klipper should be compiled for STM32G0B1 with an 8 MHz crystal and the selected interface: USB on PA11/PA12 or CAN on PB12/PB13. The bootloader offset depends on whether Katapult is used, so the settings must match the chosen installation procedure.
Power and communication must pass through the BIGTREETECH adapter board because some protection components are located on it. CAN and USB are alternative modes and must not be connected at the same time. The adapter USB-C port does not power the EBB, so a separate 24 V supply is still required.
The 120 Ω CAN termination resistor should only be enabled when the board is at a physical end of the bus.
Chamber temperature
BIGTREETECH states that the board has been tested for long-term operation at chamber temperatures up to 75 °C and recommends fan cooling above 60 °C. These figures do not replace cooling or validation of the complete installation.
