0.4 mm nozzle for the TZ-V6 2.0 hotend, manufactured from hardened SKD11 steel with a DLC surface treatment. It is the most balanced size in the family for detail, print time and wear resistance.

Hardened-steel TZ-V6 2.0 nozzle marked with a nominal 0.4 mm outlet

Main features

  • Nominal outlet: 0.4 mm.
  • Filament: 1.75 mm.
  • Material: hardened SKD11 steel with DLC treatment.
  • Stated hardness: HRC 60+.
  • Thread: M6 × 1.
  • Overall length: 10.6 mm.
  • Hex: 4 mm across flats.
  • Flow path: one central outlet; not a three-channel CHT nozzle.

Compatibility and dimensions

Directly compatible with the TZ-V6 2.0 hotend and assemblies using exactly the same nozzle. Do not confuse it with a standard V6 nozzle: sharing an M6 × 1 thread does not confirm overall length, sealing seat, available depth or final installed height.

Why choose 0.4 mm

This is a versatile size for functional parts, prototypes and general printing. Approximate 0.10 to 0.32 mm layers are a useful starting range, although final quality depends on geometry, slicer and hotend capability.

It can be used with abrasive filaments when their manufacturer allows 0.4 mm. For heavily filled materials or larger particles, 0.6 mm generally provides more clogging margin.

This is for you if

  • You need a general-purpose size for a TZ-V6 2.0.
  • You require more wear resistance than brass.
  • You want a balance between detail, time and flow.

This is not for you if

  • Your hotend does not use this compact TZ-V6 geometry.
  • Your material requires a 0.6 mm or larger nozzle.
  • You need the finest 0.3 mm detail or the throughput of 0.6 mm.

Installation and calibration

  • Follow the installed hotend procedure; do not use a universal torque or temperature.
  • Hold the block and turn the nozzle with a 4 mm spanner without loading the heatbreak or touching the heater, thermistor or wiring.
  • Check the seal and inspect for leaks at operating temperature.
  • Select 0.4 mm in the slicer and keep nozzle_diameter: 0.4 where required by Klipper.
  • Check the first layer or Z offset and calibrate temperature, flow, retraction, Pressure Advance or Linear Advance and maximum volumetric flow.

Changing from brass may require different thermal and flow settings. Tune them by testing instead of adding one fixed temperature offset. The complete TZ-V6 2.0 is published for operation up to 300 °C; the nozzle does not raise the sensor, heater or block limit.

Compare the 0.3 mm and 0.6 mm versions, plus the TZ-V6 silicone sock.
