0.4 mm hardened-steel nozzle specifically intended for the Bambu Lab X1/P1-compatible TZ 2.0 hotend. It is the confirmed direct replacement for the TZ 2.0 all-metal hotend with replaceable nozzle.

Compact 0.4 millimetre hardened-steel nozzle for the Bambu X1 and P1 TZ 2.0 hotend

Its 0.4 mm outlet maintains a versatile balance between detail, print time and profile availability. Hardened steel provides greater wear resistance than brass when filled or abrasive filaments are used, although suitability also depends on particle size and the material manufacturer's recommendations.

Compatibility: what fits and what should not be assumed

This nozzle is supplied as a replacement for the linked TZ 2.0 hotend. It must not be treated as a universal nozzle merely because it shares one or more dimensions with other families.

  • It is not a conventional V6, MK8 or Volcano nozzle.
  • Direct compatibility with the original integrated Bambu Lab X1/P1 hotend is not claimed.
  • Compatibility with the original A1 or A1 mini hotend is not claimed.
  • The 3.9 mm outer diameter is not enough to identify a standard thread: pitch, length, sealing face and internal geometry must also match.

Wear resistance and thermal limits

Hardened steel extends service life with materials that rapidly erode a brass nozzle. This advantage concerns wear; it does not by itself raise the maximum temperature of the hotend, sensor, heater or printer.

For carbon-fibre, glass-fibre, wood-filled, metal-filled or other composite filaments, confirm that the manufacturer permits a 0.4 mm nozzle. If the particles are coarse or the material specifies a larger passage, use the recommended diameter to reduce clogging risk.

Safe nozzle replacement

  1. Unload the filament and follow the replacement procedure for the TZ 2.0 hotend.
  2. Protect yourself from burns and keep tools and hands away from hot wiring and components.
  3. Hold the heater block so that turning force is not transferred to the heatbreak.
  4. Establish the internal seal using the appropriate thermal procedure; there is no universal torque value that should be copied without verification.
  5. After installation, check for leakage and verify even extrusion.

Settings after replacement

Select a 0.4 mm nozzle in the slicer. When replacing a worn nozzle or changing material, review the first layer, flow, dynamic-pressure settings and maximum volumetric flow. Hardened steel may transfer heat differently from brass, so validate temperature through an actual print test instead of applying a universal offset.

This is for you if

  • You need to renew the 0.4 mm nozzle in the linked compatible TZ 2.0 hotend.
  • You want to retain a versatile diameter for general printing.
  • You require greater wear resistance than a conventional brass nozzle provides.

This is not for you if

  • You use an original integrated Bambu Lab hotend rather than the compatible TZ 2.0 unit.
  • You need a nozzle for A1, A1 mini, V6, MK8 or Volcano.
  • Your filled filament requires a minimum outlet larger than 0.4 mm.
