- Stock: 2
- Model: Calcetin-TZ-V6
This silicone sock for the TZ-V6 hotend wraps around the hot section to reduce heat loss, limit the direct effect of part-cooling airflow and help keep the block cleaner. It is a replacement part shaped specifically for the TZ-V6 assembly shown in the photographs.
What it adds to the hotend
- Thermal insulation: reduces heat loss from the surface of the heater assembly.
- Improved resistance to part-cooling airflow: limits direct cooling of the block when strong airflow is used.
- Cleaner hot section: the silicone surface helps reduce small amounts of plastic residue sticking to the covered areas.
- Replaceable protection: receives dirt and rubbing that would otherwise affect the block directly.
Compatibility: check the shape
It is designed for the TZ-V6 2.0 hotend and TZ-V6 bodies with the same outer shape. The tall sleeve wraps around the heater assembly while leaving the upper heatsink transition and the lower nozzle outlet open.
Do not confuse it with a standard rectangular V6 heater-block sock. The V6 name alone does not guarantee fit. For other TZ revisions, compare the shape, height, cable exits, heatbreak opening and nozzle position before ordering.
Safe installation
- Allow the hotend to cool completely, switch the printer off and disconnect it.
- Remove plastic residue from the block without pulling the sensor or heater wires.
- Push the sock on from below and align its openings with the heatbreak, nozzle and wiring.
- Do not force it if it does not seat correctly: confirm that the hotend revision uses the same geometry.
- Check that it does not rub against the part-cooling duct, fan, printed part or bed.
- Heat the hotend under controlled conditions and verify a stable reading. Repeat PID or MPC calibration only when required by the firmware or the machine's thermal behaviour.
When to replace it
The sock is a consumable part. Replace it if it is cracked, hardened, distorted, loose or contaminated to the point that it no longer seats correctly. Service life depends on temperature, printed material, cleaning frequency and rubbing or print failures.
If molten plastic is found beneath the sock, inspect the hotend. The sleeve can reduce external residue, but it does not repair a leak between the nozzle and heatbreak.
Related replacement parts
We also offer dedicated hardened-steel TZ-V6 nozzles in 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm and 0.6 mm. Nozzle diameter alone does not confirm sock fit: the hotend's outer geometry must remain compatible.
