The latest version of the Orbiter improves performance, control, and durability compared to previous models, offering more precise extrusion even under high-speed and high-acceleration printing conditions.
Features
- Shorter drive gears: 11 mm vs. 15 mm on previous versions, improving mechanical response.
- Hardened filament gears: Increased durability when printing abrasive materials.
- Lightweight design: Approximately 135 g, ideal for lightweight motion systems.
- Compact size: About 11.6% shorter, improving integration and usability.
- Increased pushing force: The redesigned motor provides roughly 40% more extrusion force under real-printing conditions.
Mechanical and Design Improvements
- Inverted drive gears: Filament path is more centered, creating a balanced and optimized structure.
- Stainless steel filament guide with a clearance of 0.2–0.3 mm for better TPU handling.
- High-temperature resistant injection-molded housing for better thermal stability.
- Machined PEEK secondary drive gear sleeve for precision and durability.
- Captive grab screw tension mechanism for consistent filament grip.
- Mounting screws aligned with the filament path, improving rigidity and simplifying installation.
- Improved smaller PTFE inlet coupler for a straighter and smoother filament path.
- Motor rotated an additional 10 degrees to improve access and maintenance.
- Integrated filament sensor with automatic load/unload functionality.
