Sakata 3D RE-HR870 is a Spanish-made filament produced from HR-870 recovered within Sakata's own manufacturing process. Its official data sheet states that no externally recycled PLA resin is used and that it retains properties similar to the original HR-870 formulation while returning production material to a new filament.

What RE-HR870 means
- Made from HR-870 filament recovered from the internal production process.
- No externally sourced recycled PLA resin according to the TDS.
- Properties stated as similar to standard HR-870 under specific test conditions.
- Variable colour as a natural result of blending recovered material.
- Made in Spain by Sakata 3D Filaments.
Specifications
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Material | HR-870 PLA recovered from the manufacturing process |
| Diameter | 1.75 ± 0.05 mm |
| Maximum roundness deviation | 0.05 mm |
| Net weight | 1 kg |
| Declared density | 1.22 g/cm³ |
| Colour | Variable; not selectable or guaranteed repeatable |
| Origin | Made in Spain |
Print settings
These values come from RE-HR870-specific documentation. The speed and flow maxima stated for standard HR-870 are not automatically attributed to this recycled grade.
| Setting | Starting point |
|---|---|
| Nozzle temperature | 210–225 °C |
| Bed | Optional; above 45 °C as the current reference |
| Part-cooling fan | 100% |
| Layer height | 0.1–0.3 mm |
| Documented speed | Up to 120 mm/s, subject to printer and geometry |
| TDS reference wall | 1.2 mm |
Start near the middle of the range and tune temperature, flow and cooling with a tower or small test. Visual colour variation does not by itself indicate a functional defect.
Properties and heat treatment
The TDS states, among other values, 40 MPa tensile strength, 233 J/m notched Izod impact and 75–85 °C HDT at 0.45 MPa, but these correspond to 100%-infill specimens crystallised at 110 °C for 15 minutes. They are not guaranteed properties for every as-printed part.
Annealing may cause shrinkage, warping and dimensional change. Validate a representative specimen first and measure before and after treatment when fit is critical.
3D-printer compatibility
It is functionally compatible with FDM/FFF printers for 1.75 mm filament operating in the stated range. With a calibrated profile it can be used on HTA3D HPRO, Bambu Lab A1/P1/X1, Creality Ender-3/K1, Original Prusa MK3/MK4/MINI/CORE One and Voron 0.2/Trident/2.4 machines.
AMS, MMU or CFS compatibility must be checked for spool dimensions and condition, path and friction. It is not universally guaranteed.
This product is for you if
- You prioritise reusing material recovered from manufacturing.
- Variable colour suits prototypes, tooling or parts where an exact shade is not critical.
- You want HR-870-family characteristics with a specific conservative profile.
This product is not for you if
- You need an exact colour or repeatability between batches.
- You need the 400 mm/s or 32 mm³/s maxima documented for standard HR-870.
- The application requires certified properties without testing the final part.
For the standard high-speed-capable formulation, see Sakata 3D PLA HR-870 Ingeo 3D870. For colour changes along the spool, choose Sakata 3D HR-870 Transition.
It is not certified for food contact or medical applications. Suitable general ventilation is recommended.
