Trianglelab PT1000 RTD temperature sensor for 3D printers and high-temperature hotends. Its 3 mm cylindrical capsule fits compatible heater blocks, while its higher nominal resistance allows direct reading by certain controller boards without necessarily requiring an amplifier.

Features

  • Sensor type: PT1000 RTD.
  • Declared temperature range: 0 to 450 °C.
  • Capsule: 3 mm diameter and 15 mm length.
  • Cable length: 1 m.
  • XH connector.
  • Parts for adapting the connection to Dupont are included.

Mechanical compatibility

It can be used with the V6 Heater Block for 3 mm Encapsulated Sensors, M6 Thread or the Brass V6 Heater Block for 3 mm Encapsulated Sensors, M6 Thread, provided that the 15 mm depth and retaining system are suitable.

A PT1000 is not an NTC thermistor. The controller must support direct PT1000 measurement or use a suitable RTD interface. It must not replace a thermistor merely because the connector matches.

Firmware configuration

  • Marlin 2.1.x: type 1047 for a 4.7 kΩ pull-up, type 1022 for 2.2 kΩ or type 1010 for 1 kΩ. Select only the option matching the actual board resistance and recompile Marlin.
  • Klipper: sensor_type: PT1000 with pullup_resistor set to the actual input value.
  • RepRapFirmware 3: configure M308 as a pt1000 sensor when the board input supports direct PT1000 measurement.

Physically replacing a controller-board pull-up is not recommended as general advice. The correct configuration for the existing hardware or a compatible interface should be prioritised. Any electronic modification requires identifying the exact input and board revision.

Temperature and installation

0 to 450 °C is the declared sensor range. Safe printing temperature also depends on the hotend, heater, block, wiring, connector and surrounding materials. Compare the reading with an independent reference before high-temperature operation.
