Flexible twin wire made from two parallel conductors, each with a nominal cross-sectional area of 1mm². Its transparent insulation leaves the conductors visible, while a longitudinal red stripe identifies one side throughout the cable.

Conductor identification
The red stripe makes it possible to distinguish the two conductors along the entire cable. It may be used to identify the positive side when this convention is followed consistently, but the marking does not determine electrical polarity by itself.
Before applying power, check both ends with a continuity test or follow the equipment wiring diagram. Consistent identification helps prevent reversed polarity during installation and maintenance.
Compatibility and selection
Compatibility depends on voltage, load current, total length, acceptable voltage drop and the terminals being used. A 1mm² cross-sectional area does not provide a universal maximum-current rating without knowing the installation conditions.
Before use, check:
- The maximum expected circuit current.
- Voltage drop over the complete outgoing and return path.
- The wire size accepted by connectors, ferrules and terminal blocks.
- Temperature and ventilation along the cable route.
- Whether suitable fuse protection is required.
No insulation voltage rating or certification for mains wiring is specified. As a precaution, it should not be used for 230V mains power solely on the basis of its appearance or conductor size.
Preparation and installation
- Cut both conductors cleanly to the required length.
- Separate them only over the short section needed for termination.
- Strip the insulation without cutting or weakening the strands.
- Use terminals, connectors or ferrules suitable for 1mm² conductors.
- Provide strain relief to keep mechanical loads away from the terminals.
- Protect the wire from sharp edges, hot areas and moving components.
Although this is a flexible wire, it is not specified as continuous-flex cable. Before installing it inside a drag chain or on a moving axis, check that its construction is suitable for the expected bending cycle.
