Available Options
WINKLE PLA Tough 1.75 mm Filament
WINKLE PLA Tough filament manufactured in Spain and formulated to provide higher impact resistance than conventional PLA while remaining relatively easy to print. It is suitable for functional prototypes, parts subject to frequent use, articulated components, tools and manufacturing aids.
The range includes colours such as Dark Blue, Iron Gray, Black and Natural, depending on the available options. Actual part strength also depends on design, orientation, layer height, interlayer bonding and printing parameters.
Printing parameters
- Diameter: 1.75 mm.
- Nozzle temperature: 200-220 °C.
- Bed temperature: 50-70 °C.
- Recommended nozzle: 0.4 mm.
- Reference speed: 40-80 mm/s.
- Chamber: open.
Start around the middle of the range and tune temperature, flow, retraction, cooling and first layer. For stronger parts, pay close attention to layer orientation, perimeter count and infill; simply increasing temperature does not guarantee a stronger part.
The manufacturer publishes a notched Charpy impact of approximately 29.8 kJ/m² at 23 °C for the raw material. This test value does not directly equal the strength of every printed part and does not replace validation for safety-critical or highly loaded applications.
Storage
It is supplied vacuum packed with desiccant. Keep the spool protected from moisture and direct light. If it has absorbed moisture, suitable drying may help reduce popping, stringing and irregular extrusion.
It is for you if
You want WINKLE PLA with higher impact resistance than standard PLA for prototypes and functional parts, without moving to a more difficult material such as ABS.
It is not for you if
It is not the best choice if you need certified properties for a critical load, high thermal resistance or a material specifically prepared for continuous high-temperature operation.
