0.5 mm MK8 Brass nozzle for 1.75 mm filament. Its larger outlet can produce wider lines and deposit more material than a 0.4 mm nozzle, making it useful for functional parts and applications where productivity is prioritised.
It has an M6 × 1 thread and a nominal overall length of 13 mm. Compare its dimensions and geometry with the original nozzle before installation.
Nominal dimensions
- Outlet diameter: 0.5 mm.
- Filament: 1.75 mm.
- Material: Brass.
- Thread: M6 × 1.
- Overall length: 13 mm.
- Length from tip to thread: 8 mm.
- Hex size: 6 mm.
- Internal passage: 2 mm.
- Contents: 1 nozzle.
Wider lines and increased material output
The 0.5 mm outlet can print wider lines and may reduce the number of passes required for walls or infill. It is suitable for mechanical parts, larger prototypes and components where very fine detail is not the main priority.
The achievable flow rate depends on the hotend's actual melting capacity. Printing speed, temperature and volumetric flow may need to be adjusted in the slicer to prevent under-extrusion.
Compatibility
Compatible with MK8 hotends using 13 mm long M6 × 1 nozzles. This geometry is common on many Creality Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro, Ender 3 V2 and CR-10 printers equipped with a conventional MK8 hotend.
It must not be considered compatible with every Creality printer. The K1, Ender 3 V3, Ender 3 V3 KE or SE, Ender 5 S1 and Ender 7, among others, may use longer, integrated or differently shaped nozzles.
Recommended materials
Brass provides good heat transfer for PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU and other conventional filaments. Carbon fibre, glass fibre, metal, mineral and other abrasive fillers can rapidly enlarge the outlet through wear.
Installation
Follow the hotend manufacturer's procedure. The nozzle must seal against the heatbreak and final tightening is normally performed with the heater block hot. Hold the block with a suitable tool and avoid placing stress on the thermistor, heater cartridge or wiring.
After fitting a larger nozzle, review the slicer profile, Z height, probe offset, flow and first layer.
Other available diameters
- 0.3 mm MK8 Brass nozzle: narrow lines and increased detail.
- 0.4 mm MK8 Brass nozzle: balanced option for general printing.
