Description

Brass Volcano-type nozzle with an M6 thread and 1.2 mm outlet for 1.75 mm filament. This is the largest diameter in the family and is intended for large parts, very wide extrusion lines and applications prioritising deposited volume and strength over detail.

It requires a hotend with sufficient melting capacity and an extruder capable of supplying the requested flow. On many machines, printing speed must be limited to avoid exceeding the thermal capacity of the system.

Compatibility

Compatible with hotends using M6 Volcano-type nozzles for 1.75 mm filament and providing sufficient thermal capacity. Nozzle length, heatbreak sealing surface and heater-block geometry must also be checked.

It can be combined with our M6 Volcano-type heater block, Volcano silicone sock and configurable Volcano-type hotend when the complete selected assembly is compatible.

Configuration and limitations

  • Select 1.2 mm as the nozzle diameter in the slicer.
  • Create a dedicated profile rather than reusing a small-nozzle profile unchanged.
  • Adjust line width, layer height, flow, cooling and retraction.
  • Set a speed compatible with the actual volumetric-flow capacity of the hotend.
  • Check extruder pushing capacity and ensure that the filament does not slip.
  • Review Z-offset and perform a first-layer test.

The 1.2 mm diameter significantly reduces the reproduction of small details. Its main advantage appears in large parts and geometries designed around wide lines and thick layers.

Materials

Recommended for non-abrasive filaments. Although the large opening can make some filled materials easier to extrude, Brass remains susceptible to wear and must not be considered abrasion resistant.
