Aluminum-alloy heater block for Volcano-format hotends. It is designed to accommodate temperature sensors with a 3 mm cylindrical encapsulation and use M6-threaded Volcano nozzles.

Compatible sensors

Sensor compatibility is mechanical and depends on the encapsulated body having a nominal diameter of 3 mm. It can be used, for example, with the 3 mm encapsulated NTC 3950 thermistor with Dupont connector or the 3 mm encapsulated NTC 3950 thermistor with XH connector.

The selected sensor must also be supported by the printer electronics and firmware. NTC thermistors and PT100 sensors use different reading systems, so a PT100 may require a dedicated interface and the corresponding firmware configuration.

Nozzles and insulation

This block requires M6-threaded Volcano-format nozzles. HTA3D offers several nozzle diameters:

It can be protected with the Volcano heater block silicone sock, which helps reduce heat loss and prevents molten plastic from accumulating on the block.

Before installation, check the sensor diameter, heater cartridge dimensions and compatibility with the remaining hotend components.
